How We Ship

At Silk & Plum, all orders are dispatched from Malaysia using trusted international courier partners.

We currently ship to selected destinations across six regions based on our negotiated courier agreements and launch-stage volumes. As our operations grow, we aim to expand our coverage and improve shipping rates where possible.

If you would love our product but your country is not listed, please email us at hello@silkandplum.com and we will be happy to explore a manual shipping arrangement where feasible to get what you need delivered to you.

List of countries we ship to, shipping rates, assigned courier, estimated delivery timeframe, and duty structure are outlined in the table below:

Note: Shipping rates shown at checkout may differ from those stated in our Shipping Policy due to recent increases in courier demand, fuel, and route surcharges linked to ongoing global conditions. These adjustments are temporary, and will be revised once rates stabilise — something we’re monitoring closely.

Orders above USD$500 are entitled to free shipping. You will however, still be required to pay duties & taxes. You will be contacted by customs or the shipping company to make a payment. Failure to provide payment will result in your order being held at customs or returned to our warehouse at our cost. In both cases, the total order will not be eligible for a refund.

1. Order Processing

All orders require 1 to 3 business days to be processed in our fulfilment warehouse before shipment. Orders placed on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or on Malaysian public holidays will be processed on the next working day.

During collection launches or peak periods, processing times may extend slightly. You will receive a confirmation email once your order is confirmed.

Important Reminder:

  • Processing time is separate from shipping time.

  • Orders cannot be cancelled once it has been processed.

  • Shipping fees are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched.

2. Shipping & Delivery

Delivery timelines begin once your parcel has been dispatched, at an estimated timeline of 7-14 days for nearby destinations, and between 7 - 21 days for other international destinations.

Delivery timelines are estimates and do not include potential customs clearance delays, inspection procedures, public holidays, or unforeseen courier disruptions.

  • Once your order has been handed over to our courier partner, delivery timelines may vary depending on country and local customs processes.

  • Customs clearance timelines are determined by your local authorities, not by Silk & Plum or our courier partners.

  • Silk & Plum is not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance, courier disruptions, weather conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control.

3. Customs Clearance (Duties & Taxes)

All international shipments are subject to customs inspection and clearance procedures in the destination country.

While we provide complete and accurate documentation, Silk & Plum does not have control over customs timelines, valuation decisions, additional inspection requests, or government requirements once the parcel enters your country.

To ensure transparency and compliance with international regulations, we ship using DDU (Delivered Duties Unpaid). This structure is selected carefully based on customs processes, predictability of import charges, and courier reliability in each country. As we are an independent brand with low volumes, we are not able to absorb high risks that are associated with unpredictable duties and taxes for selected countries.

 

DDU – Delivered Duties Unpaid

Your total at checkout includes Subtotal + Shipping. Import duties & taxes, and any customs handling fees are not included and will be collected directly by your local customs authority or last-mile courier before delivery.

These charges are determined by your country’s regulations and cannot be controlled or pre-calculated by Silk & Plum. We have however provided an estimate (in %) of what the duties & taxes could look like in the table above.

Important Reminder:

  • A valid mobile phone number is required at checkout for customs clearance and delivery coordination.

  • The courier or customs authority will contact you directly regarding payment.

  • Payment methods may include online payment or cash upon delivery, depending on local practice.

  • Failure to settle duties and taxes may result in the parcel being returned. Any return shipping, storage, or customs handling fees incurred will be deducted from the order total.

Kind note: Choosing not to respond to customs communication may delay or prevent delivery.

4. Complimentary Shipping

We offer complimentary international shipping on orders of USD $500 and above (merchandise subtotal only).

This threshold applies to the value of garments in your cart before shipping, duties, and taxes are applied. You will still be contacted directly by customs or the appointed delivery agent to settle these charges before delivery.

We prioritise transparency over hidden mark-ups. Please review your country’s shipping terms carefully before placing your order.

5. Address & Contact Accuracy

Please ensure that your Shipping Address and Contact Details are entered accurately at checkout.

Silk & Plum cannot be responsible for delivery delays, failed delivery attempts, or clearance issues arising from incorrect or incomplete information.

If a parcel is returned due to address error, non-response to customs or courier communication, or refusal of delivery, re-shipment fees will apply.

Double-check before confirming. It saves time for everyone and allows a smooth process for you to receive your Silk & Plum piece.
