The S&P story

Silk and more

Like the name, Silk sits at the centre of SILK&plum. It is both a fabric and a meaning. Silk is one of the few fabrics that has travelled for centuries across cultures and continents — from the Silk Road through China, India and Central Asia, to high fashion runways and wardrobes around the world. It has always been valued not just for how it looks, but for how it feels, how it moves, and what it represents. Here at SILK&plum, we carry Made in China & the wider Made In Asia with honour and as a means of mastery.

Across cultures, silk has long been seen as the fabric women aspire to own and wear at some point in their lives. It marks confidence, maturity, and self-assurance — a fabric chosen not for trends, but for intention. In that sense, silk becomes a shared language among women everywhere. Different styles, different stories — but the same appreciation for quality, craftsmanship, and elegance.

At the heart of the brand is a belief in quality. SILK&plum encourages women — especially those moving from their 20s into their 30s and beyond — to begin investing in their wardrobes, to understand and appreciate materials like silk, wool, cashmere, and thoughtfully chosen blends that offer both longevity and ease. While we value natural, high-quality fabrics, we also understand real life, and how blended fabrics play an important role in comfort, wearability, and everyday practicality. Balance applies here too.

The In-Between

SILK&plum was created for women who don’t dress in one fixed way anymore. Today, women move between cities, careers, routines, and seasons of life — and their wardrobes need to move with them. Getting dressed is no longer about choosing between minimal or bold. It’s about finding pieces that feel right, look considered, and work across different moments of everyday life.

Over the years, fashion leaned heavily into basics and minimalism. While practical, it also left many women missing authenticity, playfulness and self expression - Pieces that carry personality, but with structure, and intention. As we observed women in London, Paris, Singapore, and across Southeast Asia, one thing became clear: style was becoming more personal again. Colour was reintroduced thoughtfully. Silhouettes became sharper. Outfits felt expressive but still refined. Women weren’t chasing extremes — they were choosing balance.

That balance and sweet spot — the in-between — became the foundation of SILK&plum.

As a woman owned brand that’s made for women, our founder’s own transition through life and style has shaped so much of SILK&plum. Moving through personal chapters changed how she wanted to dress. She no longer fit neatly into minimalist nor maximalist categories. Instead, she discovered she felt most like herself when dressed in clothes that felt polished but allowed for self expression. The more women she spoke to, the more she realised it was a collective experience, and that’s how SILK&plum was born.

Here we design for women who already know who they are. Women who value style over trends, quality over quantity, and pieces that can be worn often, styled differently, and lived in. Whether for work, travel, dinner, or simply day-to-day life, the clothes are designed to support how women actually live now.

If you’re reading this, thank you for stopping by. We hope you enjoy discovering the pieces as much as we enjoyed creating them.
